An award-winning mobile eye-care unit bringing equipment, staff, and patients between clinic and village camps.
Disha provides eye care to rural areas around Bangalore that lack access to eye-care services, requiring transport of equipment, staff, patients, medicines, and spectacles between a fixed operation theatre and remote village camps.
The design created a self-sufficient mobile clinic that transforms between transit and camp modes, protecting equipment and occupants while enabling efficient patient flow and easy setup and teardown.
Winner, Best Special Purpose Vehicle in Mobility Design, CII Design Excellence Awards 2015.
